Moving two places!
OK so here is a real update. First, we will be moving to Crown Point this month or next. We are in the process of buying a 5 bed 3 bath house in unincorporated Crown Point. Its beautiful, but I need to tear the carpet out. I want hard wood because of the cats. Second, we will be going to the new church plant in Crown Point. It's called Crosspoint church and we meet in a gymnasium in town square. We had been feeling led to move to Indiana for a long time, and the Lord really worked everything out for us. We werent even planning on going to the new church until a month ago, and it has been in plans for a year or so. It will be a sister church to my former church Living Word. So it will still be Charismatic. And there are only 50 of us! Here's the website. http://xpointchurch.org/My son is over 6 months old. Lots of battles with teeth, and the way women are swooned by him concerns me. I hope I do not have to deal with women hanging all over him when he is a teenager. I think thats it. | | Tuesday, March 7th, 2006 | | 11:42 am |

Ugh
Is it me, or have I come to a realization that perhaps if people really wanted to know me and what I was doing, they would make an effort to call/visit or something? I can see blogging an interest, or a political site, etc. But personal life? Well I guess if it didnt catch on there wouldnt be so many journals. I just have had no desire to update stuff. Irony in updating a journal to say there is no interest in updating it. | | Tuesday, January 31st, 2006 | | 11:20 am |

Weekend
Finally the weekend is here. Paintball, people coming over, etc. My week was totally boring! I sat home, made business deals, etc. Not much else. Not much to write home about. Last night I made the plunge and ordered Systema DVD's. Systema is Russian martial arts, no belt or rank system, it is a loose martial art I have been wanting to try for a long time. It's so lethal that the Communist government brought back Systema for their special forces and government agents...they had previously banned all the practice of all martial arts. I guess the populace is more dangerous if they can defend themselves. I'll be training alone. My Tomtom GPS will be here Monday. I have heard more good than bad so hopefully it wont stink. | | Sunday, January 22nd, 2006 | | 9:55 pm |
Winter camp!
Im back. Earlier weather reports were wrong. We had snow in Illinois and Wisconsin! Anyways, we all had a good time. Not as many kids, but we had no incidents. I got hit in the face playing broomball, thats about it. Food was great. Glad to be back, I really missed my wife and son! | | Friday, January 20th, 2006 | | 11:43 am |

Whata weekend
Woot! Went to see my buddy Joe, who lives in Colorado but was in town, with a few friends. Was out past 2am. I felt like I was 19 again. Sunday I took the plunge and enrolled in an online real estate pre-license course. It will count as a 45 hour course which is the Illinois state requirement. If I pass the real estate sales test I will be enrolling immediately for the 75 hour broker pre-license course. Usually I cant stand school of any sort but I got through 3 of 28 sections in 2 days. The Lord has to be with me on this because normaly I would procrastinate and be unfocused. And the Bears lost 29-21. The defense looked sad, giving up around 475 yards. The offense generated more points than it usually did, but Carolina was just too good offensively. I was mucho disappointed. Oh well. Today I put up a satellite dish for my father in law. He is now loving all that DireTV has to offer. I thank God for taking situations that I can do nothing about, and turning them around for my good and His. | | Friday, January 13th, 2006 | | 11:33 pm |

Woot
I just got my Treo 650 phone/palm pilot. LOVE IT! I had to buy some programs for it so I could do money and ringtones on it, but I can do phone, pda functions, internet, email, everything except download large attachments. I can attach photos to my phone contacts. I got two 1GB SD card for music/ringtones/TomTom maps. And I paid 200$ with a 130$ rebate. Which leads me to a problem I am having. My phone can use MP3 and MIDI files as ringtones. I would rather use MP3, but I am running into two problems. 1. I cant find a decent ringtone place 2. I cant find free MP3. I might have to just break down and pay, but if someone out there has a lot of MP3's I would appreciate dipping into it. Or if anyone knows about ringtones...ive been looking for longer than I care to admit. Overbridged, I think you could help me a lot. Teenagers gravitate towards free stuff :-) | | Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 | | 3:59 am |
Liberal Christianity
Since I have been into politics for a few years, I have been ignoring this segment, just because I didnt want to get involved. IN the last year, and particularly in the last few months, I have been looking into what makes ppl into Liberal Christians, and what they believe. I have read many blogs from people who have considered themselves Liberal Christians. The only person whom I know in person and might be a Liberal Christian went straight for my jugular when politics came up. I havent talked to him since, I hardly know the guy and I dont want to be around a guy so toxic. The commonality I see with Liberal Christianity is compromise of God's Word and a thorough disdain for "evanglicals" or "fundamanetals". LC's seem to rally around the acceptance of homosexuality, and there are even churches who are quite open about it such as the Metropolitan church and the United Church of Christ. There is a disdain for taking the Word of God for what it says, often seeing the phrase "the spirit of what the authors say instead of literal meaning". And not to mention a very lax attitude towards abortion, something that I know the Lord abhors as well as I do. This is IMO but just going over blogs and communitites I dont really see many genuine believers among LC's. Many are really Christians in name only: agnostics, blasphemers, outward Christians, polytheists, new-agers, etc. I havent met a believer in my church yet who is a devout Christian and a Liberal politically, and thats in the last 10 years. All this does is reinforce my belief that Liberal politics and Christianity are incompatible. Conservatism and Christianity are more compatible, however any true believer knows that the Word and the relationship with God Almighty come before a political stance. | | 3:00 am |

What a weekend.
Someone thinks I dont update enough. :-p Well, Friday I quit my job. Quite unwillingly actually. My position in DirecTV was to quality control installs...to make sure they were done right. My supervisor recalled me from north of Chicago to come to the South Holland office Wednesday to tell us we had to do service calls for Sugar Grove, west of Aurora. We were to get overtime because we were to do seven service calls a day. We got no pay increase for it, no compensation of any kind. Techs would make 25$ a call and I was making 11$ an hour. Thursady wasnt so bad but Friday was bad. I hate having to do a job where I have to depend on other people to get it done. The people at the office routed two other techs with all the jobs I had, I couldnt get through to dispatch most of the time, my boss kept calling to check up on me, and I was on the verge of quitting then. But then my boss said I had to work Saturday. I told him I had plans. He told me Saturday was being forced on me. I told him I had plans and I never heard Saturday was mandatory. He might have said it but I didnt hear it. He told me to call his supervisor and explain to him why I cant work Saturday. I told him I didnt have to and I quit. So, this was the last time this company was going to screw me. Saturday I went to see Cathy's parents and then we went to her bank's "Holiday party". It was fun but the absence of Christmas was stinky. Anything was better than doing service calls...which if I did do them I would have missed seeing Cathys parents and the "Holiday" party. And today...well, something happened at church but i am not disposed to talk about it on this journal. It was good, but I just would rather say it in person. | | Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006 | | 7:40 pm |

Happy New Year
Well, its now 2006. How was my 2005? In the last year, I switched jobs (only once), I moved, I started a corporation in real estate, I got house robbed, I received my firstborn son, and thats the major stuff. Every year since I have recommitted my life to Christ, I find at the end of a year I am in a place I never thought I would be at the beginning, and this year is probably the most true it has ever been. For 2006, I am on the verge of some even more dramatic and unbelievable change, all for the better. I give credit to my Lord for all the blessings, corrections, and true friends that I have made and received this year. At the end of 2005, I felt a conviction from the Lord that I need to stop being sarcastic. Through prayer and bible reading, and reflecting on past incidents, I saw that sarcasm is simply a way of trying to insult someone and do it in a way that is funny. And when someone is being sarcastic I have thought that much more often than not, people mean what they say. I believe that this is not part of wholesome talk (Titus 2:8, Eph 4:29) and in the course of cutting out bad talk I need to replace it with encouragement and prayers. But in myself I cannot do this, but the Holy Spirit who dwells in believers gives followers of Christ the ability to overcome ourselves. Besides, I do not like people being sarcastic with me, and keeping the golden rule in mind.... I hope everyone who reads this has a great 2006. | | Saturday, December 31st, 2005 | | 12:29 pm |
Hockey
Went to see the Chicago Wolves yesterday. It was a lot of fun. All 15 of us piled in the van and we were in the second tier, fourth row up. We had a good view of the game from there, we could see almost all the puck action. And there was fights in every period. But the Wolves scored 7 goals in the second period. They won 11-5, and 11 goals is a franchise record for goals scored in one game! I like going to Wolves games, and up until I went the two times I had no interest in hockey. But i was able to catch the defensive plays, formations, and it is quick moving and physical. I also find watching sports in general is much better when youre at the game. Also, minor league can prove to be better than the majors. I would not pay to see the Blackhawks, and I dont have much interest in doing so. But I checked the standings and the Wolves are in fifth place in their division. Oh well! At least we got the Sox and Bears! | | Thursday, December 29th, 2005 | | 1:41 pm |
My interweb is down!
Or it was. When I got home yesterday I had no internet, and it usually dosent stay off all night. So when i left the house this morning I found my cable strewn across the alley! The line was not anchored properly and...there you go. I had to put it back up when I got home from work. I thank God every time I am able to run/fix my own satellite/cable. I have this thing about people doing things for me that I know how to do. I dont ever get service calls for my cable or internet. Whoever knows me, call me if you get a cable/satellite problem, odds are I can get there before the service call guy does. But...up and running to find not much excitement. Oh well. Friday I am going to see the Wolves with my Royal Ranger outpost. Three adults, twelve kids, one huge van. I hope there isnt too much fighting...last game there was a bench clearing brawl in the 3rd period. And...bummer, we dont have anywhere to go for New Years. To be honest I cant remember where we were last year. I want to say we were at the Wallace Clan but I cant remember. |
